Warranty Information
Our bicycles arrive over 95% complete and only minor adjustments are necessary prior to use. For optimum performance, we highly recommend that you have your new bicycle professionally serviced by a bicycle mechanic. People with basic bicycle knowledge will be able to make the simple adjustments to the derailleur, breaks, and tire pressure on their own but our official recommendation remains that adjustments should be done by a professional bicycle mechanic.
* Always wear a SPSC approved helmet.
* Obey all traffic rules and regulations, signs and signals.
* Use proper hand signals when turning or stopping.
* Always keep to the right side of traffic. Ride with traffic and not against it.
* Be alert at all time, especially for cars pulling out into traffic or opening doors.
* Inspect your vela.ca bicycle before every ride. Make sure all nuts and bolts are securely tightened. Check your brakes before every ride. Check your tires for proper air pressure as indicated on the sidewall of the tires. Also check for any mechanical problems.
* Do not "stunt or jump" ride. These bikes are meant for cruise riding only! Avoid potholes, ruts, uneven paving, drain gates, soft road edges, gravel or sand, leaves (especially when wet), or any other road surface hazards.
* Use extreme caution at night or in low visibility conditions.
* Do not ride carelessly.
* Use extreme caution when riding in wet, icy or other hazardous conditions. Ride slowly on wet or damp surfaces, as tires will slide more easily. If riding in wet or damp conditions apply your brakes sooner than normal.
* Do not carry passengers on your bicycle.
* Do not carry heavy items with the bicycle.
* Do not surpass maximum extension/height limits on seat post or handle bars.

Our Warranty
vela.ca warrants each new bicycle frame(s) and fork(s) to the original purchaser to be free from defects in material and workmanship for 1 year.
This warranty does not apply to paint/finish on the frames and forks as well as decals. This warranty does not cover normal wear, improper assembly, improper fit or improper maintenance and neglect. The warranty does not cover damage or failure caused by the use of the bicycle for stunt riding, ramp jumping, dirt jumping, acrobatic tricks or similar or any other abnormal activities, alterations, collision, crash, transportation damage or misuse.
This bicycle has not been designed, engineered, distributed, manufactured or retailed for uses in trick riding, ramp riding, jumping, aggressive ridings, riding on severe terrain, riding in severe climates, riding with heavy loads, commercial activities, or any similar activities; such uses may damage the bicycle, and can cause serious injury to the rider, and in all cases will void this warranty. Bent handlebar, forks, frame, wheels or seat posts are signs of misuse or abuse. The warranty does not cover use as a power-driven vehicle or as a rental vehicle or commercial use vehicle.
This warranty is made only to the original owner of this new vela.ca bicycle and it shall remain in force only as long as the original owner retains ownership of the vela.ca bicycle. This Limited warranty is none transferable. In order to exercise your rights under this limited warranty you must present your bill of sale or other appropriate written proof of purchase. Should this bicycle be determined by vela.ca to be covered by this warranty, it will be repaired or replaced at vela.ca sole option which will be conclusive and binding.
The original owner shall pay all labour charges connected with the repair or replacement of all parts. Under no circumstances does this limited warranty include the cost of travel or shipment to and from point of purchase. Such costs, if any, shall be covered by the original owner.
Return Policy
Product Return: If you would like to return the product, returns will be accepted within 7 days of ownership. In the spirit of fair business, we don't refund Shipping Fees. All returns are subject to 20% restocking fee. These fees cover our depreciation of the item and the time to process the return (No Exception). Buyer is responsible for all postage and shipping charges back to us.
Product Condition: Items must be returned in the same condition as shipped from vela.ca. All components, cables, manuals, and packaging must be included and in their original condition. Returned merchandise should be well packed. Items with missing parts or any kind of damage will not be accepted. Condition will be assessed at the discretion of vela.ca.
Shipping: Include a copy of your invoice, customer name, address, phone number, and a brief description of why the item is being returned in the box. Use the most convenient means of shipping. Insurance is recommended.
Terms and Conditions: Once your return has been processed we will send you an email notification. Understanding and adhering to the following terms and conditions will ensure that the return process is completed in a timely and amicable manner. Please contact us before sending the item back to get a Return Authorization Number or R/A #. The shipping department receives many packages daily and items that are sent back without an R/A # will be refused. All return shipping charges are the sole responsibility of the customer. Refund may take up to 30 days from when the item is returned.
Privacy Policy
Your personal information will not be disclosed to any third party without your consent or as required by law. For example, your e-mail address or your name, telephone number, and personal demographic information will never be disclosed to mass marketers or data collecting services.
Delivery Policy
$42 flat rate shipping fee will be applied for all folding bicycle purchase for all Canadian domestic orders.
PLEASE NOTE THAT WE DO NOT OFFER LOCAL PICK-UP! All orders must be processed and shipped from our logistics warehouse and as a result we are not able to offer local pick up. No exceptions, thank you for your understanding.
We will dispatch your order by post or courier. Within Canada, you can expect delivery within 7-10 working days. International orders may take a little longer. Please contact us for information on shipping fees to the USA and other international destinations.
Unless different arrangements are made with customer all our packages are shipped via Canada Post. It is the customers sole responsibility to inform themselves of Canada Post shipping policies. If a package is returned to vela.ca because it has not been claimed within Canada Post’s time allowances then we will hold the product for a maximum of 1 month during which the customer has the option of paying the return shipping we will necessarily pay to Canada Post and also the second round of shipping costs to send the package again. Please, avoid the headache... inform yourself of the shipping policies, or more importantly, do not have a shipment sent to an address where no can receive it (ie. gone for prolonged period on vacation).
Please note: The price charged for delivery of any item includes the cost of postage, packaging materials and order processing costs and the postage price seen on the package is only a part of these costs.
