Mission statement:
Vela.ca is committed to creating green transport solutions for environmentally conscious people. Our goal is to provide unique folding bicycles which are economical and stylish. We plan on providing Canada's expanding urban centers with tried, tested, and true transport solutions.
We want people to embrace their urban jungles, weekend getaways, and inconvenient parking locations. We love seeing friends who park outside the city center and cruise around on our foldable bikes at their convenience. Canada is becoming more and more urbanized and we’ve decided that we’re going to have some fun with it!

Biography:
Feb 2009: Vela.ca was founded in Montreal, Quebec, Canada as a folding bicycle online and distribution company.

As a company we would like to extend our support to our Japanese partners who have been struck by a severe and tragic natural disaster. The recent earthquake and tsunami are the largest in the country’s recorded history and have caused devastating impact in the North Eastern Japan. Our co-founder, Takeshi Ideyama, was born and raised in Japan, many of his loved ones and business partners still live in Japan.
